Hello everyone:)

I thought it would be easier, for me, to create one place for updates on Brooke and David. So with that in mind, I am going to start blogging. My goal is to blog daily. So David will be able to check in whenever he can, and will be able to see what Brooke and I are up to. We invite our friends and family to check in on us too.

9 long days

Brooke is really sick:( Her fever keeps coming back, and today she started vomiting too. She has been sleeping off and on, and unless she gets her tylenol every 4 hours her fever comes back. We started out this morning in the emergency room around 12:15 am. When her fever spikes while she is sleeping her breathing becomes very shallow, and rapid; which is scary. I gave her Tylenol and took her in. By the time we got there her Tylenol kicked in, and they put her in the triage side of the emergency room (meaning she isn't an immediate emergency, and the wait is a lot longer) after a little over an hour and half, I over heard a nurse saying that the wait was going to be over 6 hours. I went up and talked to them, and discovered there were at least six people in front of us sitting in the waiting room, along with the few who had already been brought back, there was only one doctor working on our side, and if the immediate emergency side slowed down (which of course was busier than usual) they would start taking us over on that side too. It seemed silly to sit there for the next 6 to 8 hours before we would be seen, because by then the clinics would open. Brooke's fever had gone down, and it seemed smarter for us to both go home and sleep to wait for an appointment, then to stay up all night. So I checked her back out and we went home. She slept until 10 or so, woke up without a fever, and I was hoping she was just getting her molars; so I held off on making an appointment. But after she started throwing up, I called and made an appointment. The soonest they could get her in was at 8:30 pm, but I am thankful we didn't have to go back and deal with the emeregency room. The fevers come on so fast. To make this already long story shorter; the doctor thinks Brooke has a middle ear infection, and is now on antibiotics. Brooke was just feeling, and looking awful while we were at the docs, and spiked a fever there. The doctor said her symptoms are too sever to be molars, and there is slight build up in her right ear. Hopefully, she will start feeling better soon. I am so glad Kassy is here to help me. It was really nice having an extra pair of hands today:) I am exhausted...
