Hello everyone:)

I thought it would be easier, for me, to create one place for updates on Brooke and David. So with that in mind, I am going to start blogging. My goal is to blog daily. So David will be able to check in whenever he can, and will be able to see what Brooke and I are up to. We invite our friends and family to check in on us too.

17 days

We haven't heard from David at all in the last two days. It's hard not to worry, but I am sure no news is good news. Brooke and I didn't do much today, not anything exciting anyways. We hung out at home. I organized our filing cabinet, and other similar tasks. Brooke played with Aunt Kassy, and outside. She has really become very clumsy. She now has a red mark in the corner of her right eye, and a small bruise under the same eye from running into the bar of our baby gate, while it was open, to accompany her poor scrapped up lips. She has been complaining about her lips hurting all day, along with her scrapped hand. I gave her chap stick to keep in her pocket. She has been putting the chap stick on her hurt hand too:) I guess she figured it worked for her lips, why not her hurt hand too?! She also slipped on the papers I was organizing, which cause her to land face down. Then she tried to hang on the kitchen chairs, like in tumbling class, which caused the chair to fall on her. So she is bumped, bruised and hurt all over right now.

Brooke has been asking more often to call Daddy, and even thought he was home at one point today. She goes into his drawer in the bathroom, and pulls out "daddy's armpit" (David's deodorant), and Daddy's chap stick from time to time. She misses her Daddy.

I am going to get up early tomorrow, and go to a 5k walk/run on base in the morning. Then Brooke will have ballet in the afternoon. Tomorrow will be a busy day. So it was nice to have a slow day today.

  1. Hello Shalane!! It looks like you fixed the comments! Sarah and I have been keeping up with your blog. I love all the cute details you give like Brooke putting her Chapstick on her owweys! Aurora is such a dangerous baby that if she ever gets clumsy it will be aweful! Yesterday Aurora climbed on a chair, climbed onto a nearby high chair, and then climbed onto another even taller high chair and sat herself down in it (since she wanted food.) Her climbing skills are quite impressive! I really enjoyed your thoughts on parenting when you were talking about watching Brooke play with kids on the playground. I hope you and Brooke get to Skype with David today! We are thinking about you! Love, Jacob and Sarah

  2. :) I can't wait until Brooke and Aurora can get together again and play!! Aurora is so big now, compared to when we last saw her.
