I have finally convinced Brooke to listen to not one, but two more songs in the car. I have tried before to get Brooke to listen to other Taylor Swift cds, and not only will she not go for it, she doesn't even listen to the whole cd that her song is on.The new songs are of course Taylor Swift, but at least I don't listen to one track over and over anymore. I am so use to listening to the same Taylor Swift cd, that even when Brook isn't in the car I forget I can listen to something else. I will pull up somewhere and realize that I hadn't switched the music in the car, and think to myself oh well I will change it when I get back in the car. OH NO, Brooke has me so conditioned to listen to the same T Swift cd that I forget I can change the music. Brooke's song is #3, Back to December. Brooke has granted permission for Mommy and Daddy to have their own respective songs #1, and #13:) Now when she gets in the car, Brooke requests Daddy's song, then Mommy's song, and then Brooke's song. She wants to listen to Daddy's song more often than not now, and it is a welcome change. Taylor's Swift's Fearless cd has not been removed from my car, since I bought it in Oct of 2010. Brooke loves it a little too much.
Brooke and I went over to our friends Colleen and Will's house this morning to jog around their neighborhood. We got in a great workout thanks to all the hills. David, you will be happy to know that Brooke is our little motivating force. When I stop running she starts yelling"run, run, run mama." She clearly likes it best when I am running:) We have been working our way up to running farther and farther. I am feeling pretty good about it. I really want a jogging stroller. Mine rattles a lot compared to Colleen and Hollie's, both of them have jogging strollers. I want to wait until the big consignment event that comes up sometime in the spring though. Angelina told me there is a huge childrens consignment that takes place annually at the Crown, and that is where she got her jogging stroller last year. I would love to try to save up some spending money to buy Brooke some larger outdoor toys. She loves playing outside, there just isn't much to do. I would love it if she had more to play on. Maybe then she would get more energy out, and be eaier to lay down for naps and bedtime.
I have invited a spouse from David's shop over tomorrow for dinner. I am feeling inspired to invite a different spouse over evey week for dinner. I am doing so well with getting out, and being around people. I want to share the joy, and help others feel like they aren't alone in this deployment. I really feel like it is important to not only fill my time, but to enjoy my time. I love my life, and I am so thankful for all the blessings God has given me. David is such an amazing blessing!! He works so hard, and gives up so much so that I can have all the things that I have, and the life style that I live. I feel that it would not only be unhealthy for me to not enjoy my time, but it would be a little ungrateful.
I bet Uncle Micah and Aunt Teresa are so pleased with Brooke's taste in music! Aurora likes to dance to anything. It's really funny that she has certain songs for each of you. Aurora is also wanting to feed herself, she is pretty good at using a spoon. However, she really needs to learn that part about cleaning up when she drops a glob of yougert on her daddy's pants! Does Brooke like feeding her food to the dogs? Aurora finds it very entertaining and sometimes I need to make the dogs wait in another area while she eats or she will give all her food to them.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen your backyard where Brooke plays, but I am super jealous of it! I bet it has some of that grass stuff! You should see the dirt pit out behind my house where Aurora stomps around. It is pretty bad! But Aurora loves being outside as well! I'm not sure if Sarah has told you, but there is a decent chance we might live within an easy days drive of you sometime later this year! We are hoping to get stationed in Hawaii, but that would really take a change in luck for that to work out. We could be stationed in Georiga, South Carolina, Virgina, Maryland or Alabama.
Thank you for trying to get on my website! I hope that the problem you were having was typing in www. It should work if you go to http://rora.mooo.com . I think of your blog as inspiration for writing updates on my page. I'm going to start writing more about Aurora. So far there are pictures as recent as yesterday on there. I'm not that big of a fan of Facebook now that all the people from my work snuck on there. I like the idea of a special place on the web just for family! Well I look forward to hearing more Conrads' Tales. Oh yeah David tried calling me twice recently and I was taking a shower the first time and sleeping in the second time! *Crying* Take Care! -Jacob Conrads-
Wow,it makes me so happy that you and David love each other so much and take care of each other and watch out for each other, and then I saw this great comment from Jacob and seriously, I need to go wipe a tear away because I am so proud of our 4 sons and 3 daughters! Thanks for the daily updates!

I love all the comments I am getting:)!!!
ReplyDeleteJake I clicked on the link from your comment and was able to get to the site. I can't believe Aurora is that big! I still think of her as a baby. She wasn't even walking when I saw her last:( I am so excited that you might end up in our area!! I think we will be here for a while. I know we will be here for a while if David makes a career of this! We will actually be in South Carolina in two years, if he stays in. That is where the next training course would be for 6 to 12 months!! I love the idea of everyone staying connected even though we are far apart too!!! Thank you all for checking in on me. I feel really loved, and cared for!!
